Infectious Diseases

Professor Mauro Schechter is Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh and Associate in the Department of International Health, Bloomberg School of Hygiene and Public Health, Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Schechter has extensive experience in the conduct of studies on the natural history, treatment and prevention of HIV infection. According to the journal Science, in the period 2001-2005, Dr. Schechter was the most cited scientific author on Infectious Diseases in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Dr. Schechter sits on numerous international advisory boards, university thesis boards and has over 394 international medical publications to his name.
